E-Rare would like to inform you about new funding opportunities of interest for rare diseases researchers. There are several calls for projects that were recently launched or are planned by ERA-Nets in the fields of cancers, neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular diseases and personalized medicine.

Here is a brief update on 5 calls:

The ERA-NET Transcan-2, which aims at aligning national and regional translational cancer research programmes and activities, launched its 4th transnational call on the topic « Translational Research on Rare Cancers » on December 5. 23 funding organizations will participate in this call and the deadline for submission of pre-proposals is February 6, 2018. The ERA-NET Neuron launched its call for transnational research projects on January 8. The chosen topic is « Mental Disorders » and the deadline for submission of pre-proposals is March 8, 2018. For more information please follow the link:

The ERA-Net JP-cofuND – Neurodegenerative Disease Research launched a joint transnational call on « Multinational Research Projects on Health and Social Care for Neurodegenerative Diseases » on January 8. The deadline for submission of pre-proposals is March 6. For more information please follwow the link :

The ERA-NET on Cadiovascular Diseases, ERA-CVD, launched its latest call for transnational research projects on 12 of January, on the topic « Transnational Cardiovascular Research Projects Driven by Early Career Scientists ». The deadline for submitting pre-proposals is March 15. Here is the link :

ERA-Permed, ERA-Net for personalized medicine, is planning to launch its first transnational call in February 2018. Two main research areas will need to be addressed by researchers submitting a proposal. One will be « Validation, Pre-clinical and Clinical Biomedical Research-translating Basic to Clinical Reserch and Beyond », and the other « Data Analysis, Management and Protection – Integrating Big Data and ICT Solutions ».
